The Las Vegas-based promotion announced during the UFC Stockholm card on Saturday that it will hold an event at Royal Arena in Copenhagen on Sept. 21. No bouts were announced for the card, which will likely be a Fight Night event and air primarily on ESPN+.
Rising Swedish star Jack Hermansson was part of the analyst’s desk for UFC Stockholm, and he expressed interest in headlining the Denmark card on the post-fight show. Hermansson is coming off five-round verdict against Ronaldo Souza on April 27, his fourth consecutive victory within the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Perhaps the most prominent Danish fighter in UFC history was Martin Kampmann, who earned wins over the likes of Carlos Condit, Thales Leites, Paulo Thiago, Rick Story, Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger before leaving the sport in 2013. Damir Hadzovic, who hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina but trains at Arte Suave Copenhagen, is the only fighter with Denmark ties currently on the UFC roster.
