Unbeaten Shooto Brazil Flyweight Champ Lara Fritzen Procopio Signs with UFC

This week, unbeaten Brazilian Lara Fritzen Procopio signed an agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

A flyweight champion for Shooto Brazil, the Belo Horizonte, Brazil, native already has a debut date set with the Las Vegas-based promotion, as she is expected to face Karolline Rosa Cavedo at UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31.

"It's a dream come true. When the door of the Octagon closes you can be sure that I'm going to give my best. I go there to continue doing my work, giving the best of me,” Procopio said.

At age 23, Lara has an unbeaten record in six professional MMA fights and wins against Brazilian veterans like Sidy Rocha and Mariana Morais. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt trains at Nova Uniao with the likes of Jose Aldo, Poliana Botelho, Ketlen Vieira and Leonardo Santos, among others.
