Video: Clay Guida Calls Out Nate Diaz for a Rematch While Riding a Bicycle
In a somewhat unorthodox approach to calling fighters out, Clay Guida’s
recent effort to try and bait Nate Diaz into
a fight really takes the cake.
Guida posted a video on Instagram calling out Diaz while peddling on his bike. “The Carpenter” tells Diaz, who is a former “The Ultimate Fighter” winner, to “get real real high this time” before the bout so he won’t feel a thing.
Guida (34-17) is 5-6 in his last 11 fights inside the Octagon, but has found some form of late with consecutive victories over Erik Koch and Joe Lauzon.
It’s difficult to gauge whether Diaz would even be interested in this fight at all, as he’s been chasing a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor, which would guarantee the Stockton native a very handsome pay check. While Guida is a serious threat as an opponent inside the Octagon, he doesn’t have the same pulling power from a marketing perspective.
Guida first fought Diaz way back at UFC 94 in 2009. That night Guida etched out a split decision victory over Diaz, with both fighters receiving performance bonuses as the fight was given the “Fight of the Night” honors.
