Holy smokes. Look at the reception at the airport when @JairRozenstruik landed in his native Suriname last night. Incredible. @LouDiBono pic.twitter.com/CSWsr0dIus

Fresh off a fifth-round knockout of Alistair Overeem in the UFC on ESPN 7 headliner this past Saturday, Rozenstruik was greeted by an enthusiastic throng at the Suriname airport upon his return. In the video above (courtesy of ESPN), Rozenstruik is mobbed by a crowd of supporters as a raucous chant of “Bigi Boy” ensues.
It’s been a memorable 2019 for the Surinamese heavyweight. Rozenstruik has compiled a 4-0 mark, with all four of his victories coming via knockout or technical knockout — the longest active KO/TKO streak in the UFC. Among those triumphs are a nine-second KO of Allen Crowder, a 29-second KO of Andrei Arlovski and most recently, the Hail Mary salvo against Overeem that ties for the third-latest stoppage in promotion history.
Rozenstruik has called for a showdown with fellow knockout artist Francis Ngannou, and “The Predator seems to be interested in the matchup.
