Patrick Cummins has pulled out of his light heavyweight clash with Gian Villante at UFC Fight Night 102 after suffering a staph infection.

The 36-year-old fighter announced the news via Twitter on Friday. It is currently unknown if the UFC will be able to secure a replacement opponent for Villante. UFC Fight Night 102 takes place on Dec. 9 at Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. and is headlined by a light heavyweight tilt between Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov. The card streams in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.

Cummins last appeared at UFC 198 on May 14, when he suffered a first-round technical knockout loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. “Durkin” has lost three of his last four bouts in the Octagon and is 4-4 during his promotional tenure overall.
