Weekend Fight Odds: John Dodson, Will Brooks Favored at UFC Fight Night

Gamblers looking to gain an edge going into this weekend will have to be shrewd and selective, as UFC Fight Night 96 (live odds) isn’t loaded with live underdogs that could potentially pull in tons of dough. The main event featuring streaking John Lineker and John Dodson is about as close as they come and there is only one somewhat sizable underdog on the card.

Dodson, a former two-time UFC flyweight title challenger, is a slight favorite against his foe in the main event, which goes down at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. On Saturday night. According to online sportsbook Bovada, “The Magician” is hovering right around -135 a day out while Lineker, who has won five straight, is a slight underdog at +105.

Former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks will make his second appearance inside the Octagon and he’s a solid favorite against “Cowboy” Alex Oliveira. It could wind up being the best fight of the night and since Oliveira has plenty of skills, dropping some coin on him at +225 could prove to be a wise choice. Brooks, meanwhile, currently is a -285 favorite.

The biggest disparity in terms of odds is the matchup between Louis Smolka and Brandon Moreno. Smolka is a huge favorite at -450 while Moreno has some value at +325.

UFC Fight Night 96 will begin on UFC Fight Pass at 7:15 p.m. ET/4:15 pm. PT. From there, Fox Sports 1 will pick up the remainder of the card starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
