The California-based promotion announced the pairing on Wednesday. Bellator 170 takes place at the Forum in Los Angeles and is headlined by a light heavyweight duel between Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen. Daley vs. Ward will be part of a main card that airs on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

Daley was supposed to face Derek Anderson at Bellator 163 but was pulled from the bout for precautionary reasons one day prior due to a difficult weight cut. In his most recent outing, “Semtex” saw a five-fight winning streak end at Bellator 158 in a unanimous decision defeat to Douglas Lima.

Ward has won five of his last six Bellator appearances, with his only defeat during that time coming in an upset submission loss to Evangelista Santos on April 22. Most recently, the Waterford, Conn., native knocked out Saad Awad 1:28 into the opening stanza of their encounter at Bellator 163.
