Paulo Thiago and Brandon Thatch are set to square off in a 170-pound bout on Nov. 9.
A four-year veteran of the Octagon, 32-year-old Thiago snapped a two-fight losing streak in his last outing when he outpointed Michel Richard dos Prazeres at May’s UFC on Fox 8. Prior to that win, the Brazilian special forces police officer had gone nearly two years without a victory. Thiago currently holds a 5-5 record in the UFC.
Thatch, 28, made an impressive promotional debut at last month’s UFC Fight Night 27. “Rukus” needed only 83 seconds to dispose of “Ultimate Fighter” alum Justin Edwards with a barrage of knees and punches. The Grudge Training Center representative is currently riding a nine-fight winning streak, with all of those victories coming inside the first round.
