A potential welterweight slugfest has been booked for UFC 226, as Yancy Medeiros will face Mike Perry in Las Vegas on July 7.

Promotion officials announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC 226 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena and is headlined by a heavyweight championship clash between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view, while prelims will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Medeiros had a three-bout winning streak snapped in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 126, where he suffered a first-round technical knockout loss to Donald Cerrone. The 30-year-old Hawaiian was coming off a potential “Fight of the Year” performance for 2017 in a third-round stoppage of Alex Oliveira at UFC 218.

Perry, meanwhile, generated plenty of hype with KO/TKO victories in four of his first five Octagon appearances. However, “Platinum” will look to get back in the win column against Medeiros after dropping decisions to Max Griffin and Santiago Ponzinibbio in his last two UFC bouts.
