Yoel Romero has withdrawn from a proposed bout against Uriah Hall at UFC on ESPN 15.

BJPenn.com was first to report the news. The cause of Romero’s withdrawal is currently unknown. UFC on ESPN 15 takes place on Aug. 22 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a bantamweight clash pitting Pedro Munhoz against Frankie Edgar. Romero vs. Hall was scheduled for the co-main event. Promotion officials are reportedly seeking a replacement opponent for Hall.

Romero is currently on a three-fight losing streak in UFC competition. In his last outing, “The Soldier of God” dropped a five-round verdict to Israel Adesanya in a middleweight title bout at UFC 248 on March 7.

Hall, meanwhile, was supposed to fight against Ronaldo Souza at UFC 249, but that bout was scrapped when “Jacare” tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the event. “The Ultimate Fighter 17” finalist has been victorious in three of his last four Octagon appearances, including a split-decision triumph over Antonio Carlos Jr. in his last outing at UFC fight Night 158.
