‘Best of both Worlds’

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore,
Calif. will give fight fans a little bit of everything on Friday,
February 6.
Goosen Tutor promotions and the Palace will host a night of championship boxing, which features Olympic Gold Medalist and current NABO Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward (17-0) of Oakland, Calif. in a 12-round title bout against Capitol Heights, Md.’s Henry Buchanan (17-1).
The show will also feature six Palace Fighting Championship mixed
martial arts bouts, giving fights fans a taste of the world’s two
most respected combat sports.
The main card of the boxing show will be part of ShoBox and can be seen live on Showtime.
Also in action on the boxing portion of the 15-bout show is an 8-round heavyweight bout featuring Wasco, Calif.’s Manuel Quezada (25-4) and Puyallup, Wash.’s Eric Boose (14-3-1).
Arguably the best women’s boxer in the world, Watsonville, Calif.’s Carina Moreno (20-1) will take on Las Vegas, Nev.’s Sharon Gaines (11-11-1) in an 8-round flyweight bout.
Hanford, Calif.’s Shawn Estrada, who was part of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team will put his 2-0 record on the line in a 4-round middleweight bout against an opponent to be announced.
Also in action; Niagara Falls, New York junior welterweight James Ventry vs. Tulare, Calif.’s Ruben Cuellar (2-1); Madera, Calif. middleweight Joaquin Marquez (4-0-1) vs. Oakland, Calif.’s Tony Hirsch (7-1-1); Lemoore, Calif. middleweight Poppies Martinez (1-0) vs. TBA; Las Vegas, Nev. cruiserweight Dewey Cooper (17-2-3) vs. Pensacola, Fla.’s Arthur Williams (45-15-1); and Lemoore, Calif. super middleweight Justin Wines makes his pro debut against Fresno, Calif.’s Chayondray Johnson.
In the MMA portion of the show, Junction City, Kan.’s Bobby Lashley (1-0) will headline in a heavyweight bout against Tacoma, Wash.’s Scott Hayes (4-0).
Lashley is a former WWE pro wrestler, who also is a decorated collegiate wrestler. He was a star in the WWE, but recently converted to MMA and his debut with a technical knockout win in just 41 seconds on December 13.
Las Vegas, Nev. flyweight Ulysses Gomez (2-1) will take on Sacramento, Calif. David Suarez (2-1).
Hanford, Calif. featherweight Chad Mendes (1-0) will battle San Diego, Calif.’s Shannon Slack (0-0) and flyweights Williamston, Mich.’s Alexis Vila (3-0) takes on Sioux Falls, S.D.’s Ben Nguyen (10-2).
American Gladiator’s “Steel” will also be back in action at the Palace, as Chicago, Ill.’s Erin Toughill (8-2-1) takes Honolulu, Hawaii’s Adrienne Jenkins (10-2) in a 3-round women’s lightweight bout.
In a heavyweight bout, Fresno, Calif.’s Brandon Cash (4-0) takes on Denver, Colo.’s Steve Gavin (3-2).
