First MMA title fight in Washington, D.C. region to feature local contender Mike “The Hulk” Easton versus Chase Beebe for UWC Bantamweight title
Ten fight card at GMU’s Patriot Center to feature regional,
national MMA legends
(PRESS RELEASE) -- The first MMA title fight in the Washington, D.C. region will take place on Saturday, February 21, as Temple Hills native Mike Easton squares off against Chase Beebe for the UWC (Ultimate Warrior Challenge) Bantamweight title. The 22-year old Easton trains with Team Lloyd Irvin, a Maryland-based MMA school that has produced a number of UFC stars including Brandon Vera.
The 10-fight card will also feature regional and national MMA talent and celebrity guests, including the legendary Matt Hughes, who will be cornering Chase Beebe in the title fight.
Ultimate Warrior Challenge 5: MAN O' WAR will be the most significant professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event ever in the nation's capital.
"UWC 5: MAN O' WAR will break new ground as the biggest MMA event in the history of the nation's capital," says UWC CEO Marcello Foran. "By holding a title fight in Washington DC metro area, we are putting East Coast MMA on the map.”

The main event features a fight for the first ever UWC bantamweight (135lbs) World Championship, pitting Team H.I.T. Squad's Chase Beebe against Team Lloyd Irvin's Mike Easton.
Mike Easton (6 - 1), a two-time UWC veteran, hails from Temple Hills, Maryland and trains with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Lloyd Irvin and UFC Fighter Brandon "The Truth" Vera as part of Team Lloyd Irvin. Easton is a Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, Pan-American Jiu-Jitsu medalist, Abu Dhabi Submission Wrestling national qualifier and holds major wins over Gerald Lovato and John "The Magician" Dodson.
Cornering Mike Easton will be Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Lloyd Irvin, UFC light heavyweight fighter Brandon Vera and 2004 Judo Olympian Rhadi Ferguson.
Chase Beebe (11 - 3) is a four-time high school state wrestling champion now training with world renowned Marc Fiore, former EliteXC Middleweight Champion Robbie Lawler, and nine-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Matt Hughes as part of Hughes' H.I.T. Squad in Granite City, Illinois. Beebe is the former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) bantamweight champion and holds notable victories over Eddie Wineland and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Rani Yahya.
In addition to Beebe vs. Easton, UWC 5 will feature several other significant fights, including an undercard stacked with regional superstars like light heavyweight and Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter veteran Antwain "The Juggernaut" Britt vs. Jamal “The Suit” Patterson.
Patterson was profiled in the the New York Times last fall before his title fight for the International Fight League’s light heavyweight belt.
A former stand-out wrestler from Virginia, Britt has won all eight of his victories by technical knock out and is considered one of the rising stars of the light heavyweight division.
