Friday February 21st will mark the promotions first event in the countries biggest MMA market Edmonton, Alberta. Playing host to this stacked card, which features arguably the deepest Canadian MMA event in history, will be the Edmonton Expo Centre. Headlined by Edmonton’s own Ryan Ford (21-4) taking on top contender Hamilton Ontario’s Joel Powell (7-3).

Joining the top billing of the card will be Ontario Welterweight standout Ryan Dickson (6-1) as he goes up against WSOF 7 winner Kelowna BC’s Michael “The Messenger” Hill (6-2).

“These are 2 of the top Welterweights in Canada.” Say’s WSOF matchmaker Darren Owen. “Dickson is one of the top Canadian prospects, he’s amassed a very impressive 6-1 record and has a 100% finish rate. His submission game is very impressive and he has the ability to finish fights at any time. With Hill, you have a tough guy with an amazing heart and very dangerous striking. He was just victorious over Richard Arsenault (9-3) at WSOF 7. It’s always a pleasure to watch Hill fight, he brings it every time, pushes the pace and looks to finish. He will step up and take on anyone and that’s the type of guy we love working with. This is an intriguing fight, will Hill get the big knockout or will Dickson get the submission?”

In other action, #3 ranked Canadian featherweight Josh Machan (11-4) will be facing off against Adam Lorenz (7-3). Machan was set to debut at WSOF 7 until an injury forced him off the card. He has won 11 out of his last 12 fights with all of them being finishes and 10 by way of submission. Lorenz has been eager to get back into action. He has the talent to beat Canada’s best, as he has shown in the past with wins over WEC and Strikeforce vet Rolando Perez (7-3) and 3 time Bellator veteran Will Romero (9-4).

Additionally added to the main card will be Mark Drummond (5-1) versus Brandt Dewsbery (10-2). Drummomd is on a 5 fight winning streak and has the potential to make a run in the Welterweight division. Dewsbery’s impressive record has only 2 blemishes respectively, to Ryan Dickson and Joel Powell and both of those fighters Dewsbery can watch in the Main and Co-Main events after his fight. In a combined 18 fights both men have only gone to a decision once so expect an action packed fight in this one.

Filling out the main card will be Will “Leon” Romero (9-4) versus Lenny “The Show Steeler” Wheeler (6-3) in Featherweight action. Romero holds a win over current UFC fighter Mitch Gagnon (10-2) and has won 3 out of his last 4 fights. Many fans have been eagerly waiting for Wheeler to fight in Canada again after submitting top ranked Adam Lorenz (7-3) in only 33 seconds. In his 9 professional fights Wheeler has had 7 of them finish within the first 3 minutes. The winner of this fight will take a jump up in the rankings.
