Wrestling Olympic Gold Medalist teams up with Make-A-Wish® North Texas for Mixed Martial Arts Debut in Dallas

Cejudo, at the age of 21, achieved his dream and made history
by becoming the youngest American gold medalist in the history of
U.S. wrestling. Henry’s inspiring journey from childhood adversity
to the 2008 Beijing Olympics shows what the human spirit is capable
of when passion and perseverance are at the soul’s foundation.
Currently engaged in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, Henry has recently signed a multi-fight contract with Legacy Fighting Championship, a Houston based promoter, and will be appearing in the Legacy Fighting Championship 24 at the Allen Event Center on Friday, October 11, 2013 which will be televised live on AXS TV (owned by Mark Cuban, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Ryan Seacrest Media and CBS). Henry is 4-0 in competition and is currently listed as the number one prospect in the world.
As part of Henry’s decision to engage in the sport of MMA, he has
decided to donate a portion of his fight proceeds to Make-A-Wish
North Texas to help grant the wishes of children battling
life-threatening illnesses in North Texas and will utilize the
mantra “Fighting For A Better World” as he continues to use MMA as
a platform to bring awareness to underprivileged youth. Henry will
continue his support of Make-A-Wish® by making further donations to
Make-A-Wish in each city he competes with Legacy Fighting
Championship.
Cejudo commented, “It is a pleasure and honor to support an organization such as Make-A-Wish. Many of the children grow up in disadvantaged homes and have the added burden of having to deal with a life-threating medical condition.” Cejudo continued, “I believe it is incumbent for everyone to support those in need. That is a reason I am Fighting For A Better World, and making a Commitment to Community with my support of Make-A Wish North Texas.”
