Women’s Atomweight

1. Seika Izawa (17-0) | Rizin [1]

Izawa defended her Rizin 108-pound title once again, turning aside Saori Oshima by unanimous decision at Rizin Landmark Vol. 12. The undefeated 28-year-old continues to be one of the most dominant women in the sport regardless of weight, to the point that she is beginning to lap the field; the likeliest next challenger for her belt may be Rena Kubota, one of the few contenders she has yet to defeat.

2. Elisandra Ferreira de Oliveira (9-2) | Invicta [2]

Ferreira de Oliveira successfully defended her atomweight crown for the first time in the Invicta FC 61 headliner, taking a five-round verdict over Ana Palacios at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on April 4. The 27-year-old has won five straight contests within the all-women’s promotion, a run that also includes triumphs over Andressa Romero, Katie Saull, Flor Hernandez and Marisa Messer-Belenchia.

3. Andressa Romero (8-5-1) | Invicta [3]

Romero rebounded from a failed title bid against Elisandra Ferreira de Oliveira at Invicta FC 57 by submitting Claire Lopez in the third round of their encounter at Dynamite MMA 4 on Nov. 8. “Guachinha” has won two of three atomweight outings since dropping down from 115 pounds.

4. Moeri Suda (14-7) Jewels [4]

Suda fell to 0-2 against Saori Oshima, as she dropped a three-round verdict in their bout at Deep 127 Impact on Sept. 15 in Tokyo. The 21-year-old known as “Black Diamond” had been victorious in her previous four outings, earning notable victories over the likes of Ye Ji Lee and Ayaka Hamasaki during that run.

5. Ayaka Hamasaki (26-7) | Rizin [5]

Even at 43 years old, Hamasaki continues to chug along. In her second appearance of 2025, the respected Japanese veteran scored a clear-cut unanimous decision triumph over Ye Ji Lee in the Deep Jewels 51 main event. The longtime Rizin talent has won three of her last five bouts dating back to July 2022.

6. Saori Oshima (15-7) | Jewels [6]

“Little Giant” was game but outmatched against Seika Izawa, coming up short in her title challenge via unanimous decision. Oshima weathered an early knockdown and several spots of peril on the ground, and even briefly threatened the undefeated champ with a heel hook, but eventually had to settle for being Izawa’s first opponent in over a year to hear the final horn. As she plots her comeback, Oshima will have no shortage of contenders in Rizin and Deep.

7. Ye Ji Lee (6-7) | Deep [7]

Lee pulled off an upset at Deep 125, taking a unanimous verdict against Saori Oshima on May 5 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. The 25-year-old South Korean has won three of her last four bouts, and her loss to Moeri Suda has aged well given Suda’s recent victory over Ayaka Hamasaki. Given Lee’s relative youth, the best could be yet to come for the Team AOM product.

8. Namiko Kawabata (6-4) | Jewels [8]

Despite her opponent missing weight at Deep Jewels 49, Kawabata was undeterrred, as she utilized a triangle armbar to dispatch former Pancrase champion Honoka Shigeta in the second round of their super atomweight clash on May 25. The 38-year-old Mouri Dojo product has rebounded from a three-bout losing streak that occurred from 2023 to 2024 to post victories in consecutive outings.

9. Rena Kubota (15-5) | Rizin [9]

Kubota shone at Super Rizin 3, busting up Kate Oyama with second-round punches at Saitama Super Arena. While the popular kickboxer remains near the bottom of the Top 10 for now thanks to some head-to-head losses, she figures to have plenty of chances to elevate her stock in the near future, thanks to Rizin’s working relationships with most other promotions with atomweight divisions.

10. Satomi Takano (20-14) Pancrase [10]

Takano became the first atomweight Queen of Pancrase champion in March 2024, when she knocked out Sayako Fujita at Pancrase 341 in Tokyo. More recently, “Sarami” returned to action to take a unanimous decision over Yerin Hong in a non-title affair at Pancrase 347 in September 2024. The 35-year-old will take a three-fight winning streak into her next matchup, though she currently has nothing on the books.

Other Contenders: Ana Palacios, Giulliany Perea Vieira, Keito “Kate Lotus” Oyama, Melissa Gomez, Magdalena Czaban.
