SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 7 Both Bobby Southworth (Pictures) and Vernon White made weight for their scheduled five-round bout to determine the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion.
The Crown Plaza Hotel played host to Fridays weigh-in, which saw White originally tip the scales at 207 pounds before shedding his clothing for an extra half-pound loss.
It was determined White would have to drop the extra weight due to the fact that the vacant title was on the line. The event promoter verified to Sherdog.com that White made 205 shortly after the weigh-ins concluded.
Hometown favorite Cung Le (Pictures) came in at the catch-weight limit of 182 pounds for his bout with The Ultimate Fighter alumnus Jason Von Flue (Pictures).
Josh Thomson (Pictures), originally scheduled to square off with lightweight ace Gilbert Melendez (Pictures), weighed in at 154.5 pounds, the same as his opponent, up-and-comer Nam Pham.
