Olivier Aubin-Mercier Ahead of the PFL Finals: ‘I Deserve the $1 Million’

Olivier Aubin-Mercier fought hard for a ticket to the Professional Fighters League finals, and he is ready to collect his due. Aubin-Mercier (16-5, 5-0 PFL) will face Steven Ray in a lightweight affair on the card that will go down in New York City on Nov. 25. In the span of four months, “The Canadian Gangster” overcame Natan Schulte, Raush Manfio and Alex Martinez on his path to the 2022 PFL Championships. Two of those opponents are former PFL champions, as both Schulte and Manfio captured the promotional belt in 2019 and 2021, respectively. Ahead of his upcoming clash, Aubin-Mercier feels he has already done whatever it took to prove himself and that gives him much confidence in his final victory and the $1 million prize.

“When I'm gonna win in two months, it's gonna be such a big accomplishment. Sometimes, in the PFL something really weird happened like we saw with Rory MacDonald that the guy who replaces the opponent didn't really do the playoff and then he did the semifinal and then he is in the final. I fought three times. I deserve everything for this year. I deserve the $1 million, to be honest. I think there was nothing about luck, nothing about being at the good place and at the good time. I think I really truly deserve everything I'm gonna get on Nov. 25.”
