“The Sniper” believes he has an exciting matchup in mind.
Sean Woodson (8-1, 2-1 UFC) bounced back from his first career defeat by earning a split-decision triumph over Youssef Zalal in a featherweight encounter at UFC Fight Night 189. Even though he took the victory that night, he wasn’t too satisfied with the match itself. Now, he looks for a more entertaining duel as he wants to meet Australian striker Joshua Culibao.
“I watch all the UFC events and I saw Culibao. He picked up a nice win,” Woodson said. “He wants to get in there October, November timeframe, that’s the same timeframe I’m looking at. I think that it would be a really exciting fight. He’s a guy who likes to strike, I’m a guy who loves to strikes as well. We both had similar experiences, he’s 9-1, I’m 8-1. In his last fight, he was going against a one-dimensional wrestler who tried to take him down all the time. In my fight, even though my opponent is well-rounded, he’d try to take me down all the time. I feel like neither one of us will be trying to take each other down. This would be like meeting in the middle and strike. Those are the type of fights fans want to see, those are the type of fights I want to be in, and I think it would be an exciting matchup.”
