Shogun Plans to Fight in ‘December or January’

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua paid a steep price in capturing the light heavyweight crown from Lyoto Machida in their anticipated rematch at UFC 113 on May 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Before scoring a knockout, the 28-year-old Brazilian absorbed a first-round takedown from Machida that resulted in ligament damage to his troublesome left knee.
In this exclusive interview with Sherdog.com, Rua discusses the reconstructive surgery he underwent, when he expects to return to the Octagon and the potential challengers who have lined up, including top contender Rashad Evans.
