PFL 6 in Sioux Falls to Feature Brendan Loughnane vs. Justin Gonzales as Headliner

The final regular season Professional Fighters League card of the year is officially on the books.

Per a release from the tournament-based league on Friday, PFL 6: 2024 Regular Season, which will feature the featherweight and welterweight divisions, is now official. Twelve fights are on the docket, including one alternate bout at 170 pounds and a non-tourney “featherweight showcase” bout to start off the prelims. Of the six brackets currently operating in the PFL’s main grand prix, 145 pounds is the only one where all five fights see a points-holding winner taking on an opponent that lost earlier in the season.

Serving as the main attraction to the June 28 fight card at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will be a featherweight scrap between Brendan Loughnane (27-5) and Justin Gonzales (14-4). Loughnane, winner of the 2022 season, picked up six points in April by punching out Pedro Carvalho in under 90 seconds to sit as the current top seed. His opponent Gonzales suffered a first-round stoppage loss to Gabriel Braga, with “J-Train” currently riding a three-fight skid.

The marquee match for welterweights comes between two men that lost in April, as Logan Storley (15-3) faces Laureano Staropoli (13-6). Former interim Bellator MMA beltholder Storley has dropped two of three since vying for the unified strap in early 2023. Storley fell short against Yaroslav Amosov, rebounded by punching out Brennan Ward a few months later and introduced himself to the PFL in a losing effort to Shamil Musaev. Staropoli too was finished in April, as Murad Ramazanov throttled him with a rear-naked choke to put an end to a four-fight win streak.
