PBC on Spike Weigh-in Results: Rodriguez, Seals On Point

During Thursday’s weigh-ins for the next installment of Premier Boxing Champions’ PBC on Spike TV event, three of the four main fighters made weight. Even though one of the combatants was slightly heavier than the contracted weight, the card will carry on as planned, which will be held inside the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss.

Main event fighters Edwin Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KOs) and unbeaten Michael Seals both made the light heavyweight limit for their scheduled 10-rounder. Rodriguez, who once challenged Andre Ward for his WBA super middleweight title, came in officially at 175.4 pounds. Seals (19-0, 14 KOs) looked as focused as ever, coming to the scale exactly one pound lighter.

The co-featured bout was not without some controversy as one of the combatants was too heavy. After Thomas Williams Jr. (18-1, 12 KOs) weighed 174.6 pounds his 10-round light heavyweight tussle, his opponent was nowhere to be found at the time of the weigh-ins. Finally, Humberto Savigne came to the scale but he clocked in at 175.8 pounds, eight ounces too heavy.

Savigne had one hour to shed the extra weight at the time of this writing.

The PBC on Spike telecast will air live on Spike TV starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
