  • Podcast: 'SRN Rewind' By: Sherdog.com Staff

The latest Sherdog Radio Network "Rewind" takes a special look at two of the big developments in the MMA this week: the decision by the Nevada commission to eliminate testosterone use exemptions and Bellator MMA launching its 10th season.

First, in a "Down To Business" segment, host Jack Encarnacao welcomes ESPN.com investigative reporter Mike Fish to discuss his impactful story on TRT use in MMA that was published this week. Fish talks about the mechanics behind the piece, from public records request to getting Vitor Belfort on the record. Fish also gives his thoughts about Nevada's action.

Second, it's the return of our "First Person" feature, as Encarnacao takes a look at the sights and sounds of Bellator's event this past Friday at Mohegan Sun Casino, which set the table for a showdown between mercurial fighters Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and "King" Mo Lawal. The feature includes interviews with Mohegan regulator Mike Mazzulli discussing what the commission knew about the scuffle between Rampage and Lawal in the cage, and the post-fight verbal volleying.

  • Raised to Speak His Mind, King Mo Says He Doesn’t Fit the UFC Model By: Sherdog.com Staff

Muhammed Lawal, on “Beatdown,” discussing whether he could be a bigger star in Bellator than in the UFC:

“For me to become a bigger star, I’ve got to win this tournament first and then I’ve got to keep winning and defending my belt. Second, with the UFC, I don’t fit their model. Look at me. • Podcast: Anthony Pettis, 'King Mo' By: Sherdog.com Staff

TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to The Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them were mixed martial artists and former champions, Anthony Pettis and Muhammed Lawal.

Fresh off his “Knockout of the Night” winning performance at the UFC on Fox 6, Pettis joined TJ and Jeff to talk about his stoppage of Donald Cerrone. Pettis breaks down the kick that stopped the Greg Jackson product, his unorthodox style of striking and how he has changed mentally since his loss to Clay Guida. “Showtime” also chats about who he feels will win between champion Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez, and if he truly believes he is going to fight the winner of that bout next.

It’s been a long road back to active competition for Lawal. “King Mo” joined “Beatdown” to discuss his successful Bellator MMA debut. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion recounts his battle with staph infection, how it returned to his knee in October and how it felt to return to the cage after a year away. Lawal also shares his thoughts on if the Bellator tournament is honestly the “toughest tournament” in sports.

TJ and Jeff also share their thoughts on the UFC on Fox card, take listener calls and emails, and discuss the latest happenings in the world of mixed martial arts. Listen to “Beatdown” here.
