UFC bantamweight Urijah Faber joined TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood for Monday's edition of “Beatdown” on the Sherdog Radio Network.

The 33-year-old “California Kid” was in action in Anaheim, Calif., as part of the UFC 157 card. The Team Alpha Male leader was victorious in the first round, defeating Ivan Menjivar by rear-naked choke. Faber joined TJ and Jeff to talk about the submission victory, changes made to his coaching staff, and if those changes will lead him back to a title. Faber also commented on if he feels champion Dominick Cruz should be stripped of the UFC bantamweight title due to inactivity. He also chats about what might be next for him in the UFC and talks about a potential super-fight with former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
De Santis and Sherwood recap other action from UFC 157, get listener thoughts about the event, and discuss the appeal of Ronda Rousey going forward.

Faber Ready to Punch Another 'Cool Dude' Saturday

Urijah Faber has been involved in bitter rivalries during his 10-year career as a mixed martial artist.

That won't be the case when he steps into the octagon to face Ivan Menjivar at UFC 157 on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Honda Center on pay-per-view. Menjivar is one of the nicest guys in MMA and Faber is also one of the good guys in the sport.
"We've done this before and every single time I've met Ivan he's been a stand-up individual," Faber said. "This sport is full of a lot of stand-up individuals. We're basically dealing with a whole organization of cool dudes and we punch each other in the face. That's what we do. It's all good."
Both Faber and Menjivar feel they have unfinished business to take care of. They fought seven years ago in Canada and Menjivar was disqualified for an illegal kick to the head of a grounded opponent. It was unintentional on Menjivar's part. The fight barely lasted three minutes.

Faber, Henderson Look for UFC Title Shots

Uriah Faber called Dan Henderson "the toughest guy in our sport."

Then the 135-pounder proceeded to clown on Henderson about a wakeboarding trip the two went on back in 2009 before UFC 102 in Portland, Ore.
"Remember when we were in Washington and you were trying to do a back flip when we were wakeboarding?" Faber asked Henderson at a luncheon Thursday at Morton's. "You gotta look this video up. He got all (ticked) off. He didn't wipe out once. He wiped out like 12 times. He landed on his head every time. I made a video of it and cut and sliced it. It was awesome."
Henderson said he never saw the video.
"It wasn't like it was hurting," said Henderson, a former Pride 183- and 205-pound champion and Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion.
"Every single time, he would get completely upside down and whack his head on the water nine times straight," Faber said. "The guy doesn't quit."
Said Henderson: "It was fun."
