Beneil Dariush vs. Mairbek Taisumov Set for UFC Fight Night in Boston

Beneil Dariush will lock horns with Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night in Boston on Jan. 17.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the lightweight clash on Saturday. UFC Fight Night takes place at TD Garden and is headlined by a bantamweight title tilt between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.

Dariush has won his last five fights in the Octagon. Most recently, the Kings MMA product garnered a contentious split-decision triumph against Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night in Nashville on Aug. 8. He also owns notable victories over Jim Miller and Daron Cruickshank in UFC competition.

Taisumov enters the matchup on a three-fight finishing streak, with consecutive KO/TKO victories against Alan Patrick Silva Alves, Anthony Christodoulou and Marcin Bandel. The 27-year-old Russian is 24-5 as a professional, with 22 of those wins inside the distance.
