A middleweight showdown between Derek Brunson and Ed Herman has been added to the UFC 183 lineup.

Both fighters announced the matchup via Twitter on Tuesday, and confirmed the pairing with a UFC official. The bout was originally scheduled for UFC on Fox 13 but was scrapped when Brunson came down with food poisoning a few hours before the fight.

UFC 183 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 31 and is headlined by a 185-pound tilt between Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz.

Brunson, 30, is 3-1 in the Octagon, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of Yoel Romero this past January. In his most recent outing, the Jackson-Wink MMA product outpointed Lorenz Larkin at UFC 177.

A veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 3,” Herman is 9-6 in 15 promotional appearances. “Short Fuse” last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva” in May, when he took a unanimous decision over Rafael Natal.
