A middleweight showdown between Derek Brunson and Ed Herman has been added to the UFC 183 lineup.

Both fighters announced the matchup via Twitter on Tuesday, and Sherdog.com confirmed the pairing with a UFC official. The bout was originally scheduled for UFC on Fox 13 but was scrapped when Brunson came down with food poisoning a few hours before the fight.

UFC 183 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 31 and is headlined by a 185-pound tilt between Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz.

Brunson, 30, is 3-1 in the Octagon, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of Yoel Romero this past January. In his most recent outing, the Jackson-Wink MMA product outpointed Lorenz Larkin at UFC 177.

A veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 3,” Herman is 9-6 in 15 promotional appearances. “Short Fuse” last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva” in May, when he took a unanimous decision over Rafael Natal.
