A lightweight battle between Paul Felder and Daron Cruickshank at UFC Fight Night Boston will serve as the featured Fight Pass prelim on Jan. 17.
The UFC announced that the clash will be streamed live on its popular Fight Pass service, as the Las Vegas-based promotion is looking to piggyback off the success of UFC 195’s scrum between Dustin Poirier and Joseph Duffy. According to UFC President Dana White, that encounter set viewership records for Zuffa and its Fight Pass subscription service.
Felder enters the fracas on a two-fight losing streak, having dropped decisions to Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson. “The Irish Dragon” began his professional career with 10 straight wins, including triumphs over Danny Castillo and Jason Saggo in the Octagon.
Cruickshank has also endured some struggles in the Octagon recently. “The Detroit Superstar” enters the matchup on a two-fight skid, having been submitted via rear-naked choke by both Beniel Dariush and James Krause.
UFC Fight Night Boston takes place at the T.D. Garden in Boston and is headlined by the bantamweight championship duel between titlist T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.
