A middleweight showdown pitting Michael Bisping against Gegard Mousasi will be featured when the Ultimate Fighting Championship travels to London on Feb. 27.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Tuesday. It is currently unclear if Bisping-Mousasi will serve as the evening’s headliner. Also set for UFC Fight Night London London is a lightweight clash between Rustam Khabilov and Norman Parke as well as a featherweight tilt between Makwan Amirkhani and Mike Wilkinson. The card takes place at O2 Arena in London.
Bisping has won three of his last four in the Octagon, including both of his 2015 appearances. “The Count” captured a unanimous verdict over C.B. Dolloway at UFC 186 on April 25 before earning a split-decision triumph against Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night on July 18.
Mousasi saw a two-bout winning streak come to a halt at UFC Fight Night “Barnett vs. Nelson,” as he suffered a surprising second-round technical knockout loss to Uriah Hall after dominating the opening stanza. “The Dreamcatcher” posted triumphs over Costas Philippou and Dan Henderson in his first two outings of 2015.
Once one of the lightweight division’s most highly-regarded prospects, Khabilov has fallen on hard times of late, dropping back-to-back contests against Adriano Martins and Benson Henderson in his last two starts. Meanwhile, Parke snapped a two-fight skid on Oct. 24 with a unanimous decision triumph over Reza Madadi.
Amirkani has impressed in his first two UFC appearances, scoring first-round stoppages of Masio Fullen and Andy Ogle. Wilkinson has won two of three inside the Octagon, including a knockout of Niklas Backstrom in the opening stanza at UFC Fight Night “Nelson vs. Story” in October 2014.
