Source: Drakkar Klose to Face Devin Powell at UFC Fight Night 103

Lightweight prospect Drakkar Klose has signed on with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will fight Devin Powell in his Octagon debut, Sherdog.com has learned. Klose has replaced Jordan Rinaldi, who had to withdraw from his bout due to injury. The bout is slated for UFC Fight Night 103 “Rodriguez vs. Penn” on Jan. 15 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Klose, a veteran of Resurrection Fighting Alliance, has yet to lose in his pro ledger. The MMA Lab product has knocked nearly everybody out that he’s faced, though in his last bout, he edged Hugh Pulley via unanimous decision at RFA 44. A Michigan native, Klose has already torn up the competition regionally for Rage in the Cage and World Fighting Federation. His exciting style has helped him sign on with the world’s leading MMA promotion in just his seventh pro battle.

Powell, who was signed by UFC President Dana White on his popular “Lookin for a Fight” show last summer, has been on a tear since losing in his third pro bout. The Nostos MMA fighter has won his last six, with four of those wins coming via knockout or submission.

UFC Fight Night 103 will be anchored by the featherweight showdown between former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn and popular Mexican Yair Rodriguez. Also on the marquee will be Bryan Caraway versus Jimmie Rivera as well as Viktor Pesta against Alexey Oleynik, among others.
