California-based MMA promotion Bellator announced Tuesday afternoon that it has tacked on two more bouts to its event in Italy on Dec. 10.
Philipe Lins will stand opposite Pietro Cappelli in a light heavyweight encounter while John Salter and Claudio Annicchiarico will collide at middleweight. The two bouts help round out the Bellator 168 main card (online betting), which is anchored by the middleweight title rematch between Rafael Carvalho and Melvin Manhoef. The co-featured bout will see Alessio Sakara take on Joey Beltran at 205 pounds.
Bellator 168 will coincide with Bellator Kickboxing: Florence, which goes down in Dec. 10 at the Mandela Forum in Florence and will be televised live on Spike at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
The Bellator Kickboxing portion of the event will see Giorgio Petrosyan (82-2-2) locking horns with Jordan Watson (48-11-2) in the main event. Lightweight Kevin Ross (31-9) will take on local fighter Alessio Arduini (2614-2); popular knockout artist Joe Schilling (19-9) will go toe-to-toe with Victorio Lermano (30-7) in a middleweight bout; welterweight champ Karim Ghajii (96-13-1) will take on Italian Luca Novello (22-4-2) in a non-title bout; and Denise Kielholtz (45-3) will have a rematch with Gloria Peritore (11-1-1) to determine the promotion’s inaugural Bellator Kickboxing female flyweight world champion.
