Dixson comes out of the corner with a big right hand only to have Wiuff come under the punch with a takedown. Planting Dixson in the mat wedged into the fence. Wiuff was able to capitalize on the ground pound by opening a gash under Dixson’s eye. The referee stopped the bout to let the doctor examine the cut. With some persuasion from Dixson, the fight was allowed to continue. They bout was restarted with Wiuff in Dixson’s guard in the center of the ring. Wiuff immediately starts working Dixson back to the fence, where he was able to open the cut up again with a big right hand. This time, Dixson was not as lucky. The fight was stopped due to the cut.
