With rumors of an impending collapse or potential buyout running
rampant, EliteXC gets a chance to put its best foot forward with a
CBS-televised show that features the return of its top homegrown
superstars this Saturday at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise,
Fla.
Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson will take on fading mixed martial arts legend Ken Shamrock, while Gina Carano will do battle with recent signee Kelly Kobald. Hopefully, Carano can win her battle with the scale, as her problems with making weight have been well chronicled.
What really has the MMA community buzzing, however, is the unexpected arrival of Affliction acquisition and former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. He gives this card a real headliner, as he will take on America’s premier pudgy pugilist, former International Fight League titleholder Roy Nelson.
