The former two-division One Championship titleholder will lock horns with Gilbert Galvao in a ONE on Prime Video 6 catchweight showcase on Friday at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Sang has lost three of his past five bouts. The Sanford MMA rep last appeared on Nov. 19, when he dispatched Yushin Okami with punches in the first round of their ONE 163 encounter. Galvao, meanwhile, has not fought in more than three years. He last competed at ONE “Legendary Quest,” where he succumbed to a volley of second-round knee strikes from Reinier de Ridder on June 15, 2019.

As Sang and Galvao approach their forthcoming battle at 215 pounds, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

37: Years of age for Sang, who was born on May 21, 1985 in Myitkyina, Myanmar.

14: Sang victories by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 50% of his career total (28). His list of victims includes Leandro Ataides, Brandon Vera and Ken Hasegawa (twice). Sang holds 12 other victories by submission (43%) and two more by decision (7%).

2,379: Days spent by Sang as a One Championship titleholder. He held the ONE light heavyweight crown from Feb. 23, 2018 to April 28, 2021 and the ONE middleweight title from June 30, 2017 to Oct. 30, 2020.

6: Sub-minute finishes on the Sang resume, with only one of them having taken place in One Championship. He cut down Alexandre Machado with a head kick and follow-up punches in 56 seconds at ONE “Quest for Gold” in 2018.

.754: Cumulative winning percentage between the 11 men—de Ridder (twice), Vitaly Bigdash (twice), Jonavin Webb, Sam Oropeza, Drew Puzon, Uriah Hall, Costas Philippou, James Lee, Julio Paulino, Jim Martens and Emerson Rushing—who have defeated Sang. They sport a combined record of 132-43.

40: Years of age for Galvao, who was born on March 9, 1982 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

13: Galvao wins by submission, accounting for 43% of his career total (30). His methods of choice: four arm-triangle chokes, four kimuras, two rear-naked chokes, two keylocks and one guillotine choke. Galvao owns five other wins by knockout or technical knockout (17%) and 12 more by decision (40%).

39: Seconds needed for Galvao to put away Manoel Henrique Conti with a guillotine choke at a Nitrix Championship Fight show on May 5, 2012. More than a decade later, it remains his fastest finish to date.

1: Stalemate on the Galvao ledger. He fought to a draw with Luis Eduardo da Paixao under the Apocalypse Fighting Championship banner in 2011.

93: Combined victories between the seven men—de Ridder, Marcin Prachnio, Renato Gomes Gabriel, Lucas Rota, Mauricio Alonso, Carlos Galvao and Ricardo Tannus—who have beaten Galvao. They boast a cumulative .678 winning percentage at 93-44-1.
