The Ultimate Fighting Championship has officially changed headliners for UFC Fight Night 24, swapping out injured ex-champion Tito Ortiz and inserting unbeaten prospect Phil Davis in the main event against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
UFC President Dana White first announced the switch on Saturday via Twitter. Ortiz later wrote on his own Twitter account that he had received a head butt in training which left him with a “bad concussion” and 22 stitches above his eyebrow.

Davis, an NCAA Div. I wrestling champion and four-time All-American at Penn State University, is a perfect 8-0 in his mixed martial arts campaign, including four wins inside the UFC. The 26-year-old “Mr. Wonderful” was last seen submitting Tim Boetsch via modified kimura at UFC 123 in November.
A nine-year veteran of the sport, Nogueira boasts an impressive record of 19-4, including wins over Dan Henderson and Alistair Overeem (twice) during his time in Pride Fighting Championships. In September, “Minotoro” was dealt his first defeat in more than three years, dropping a unanimous decision to then-unbeaten prospect Ryan Bader.
