There have been several changes to Friday’s Combate Americas card, including a revision to the bantamweight main event.

Marc Gomez, who was supposed to face John Castaneda in the “Combate Estrellas 1” headliner, was declared ineligible to compete when a pre-fight medical exam revealed a detached retina. As a result, Mexico native Jose Alday will step in for Gomez against Castaneda.

Meanwhile, the mixed martial arts debut of five-division boxing world champion Amanda Serrano will come against a new foe in the co-main event. Serrano’s original opponent, Erendira Ordonez was unable to secure a work visa for the fight, so she will be replaced by Corina Herrera.

Finally, Rudy Morales will step in for the injured Pablo Sabori and face Jose Estrada in the evening’s first televised main card bout.

“Combate Estrellas 1” will be televised on Univision (12 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT) and Univision Deportes (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT). The event marks the first live MMA broadcast on Univision Deportes.
