Eric Albarracin Discusses Title Hopes of Weili Zhang, Deiveson Figueiredo, Patricky Freire

Eric Albarracin is currently working with a number of top fighters at Arizona-based MMA camp Fight Ready, and he expects that the team will only continue to get better.

Currently, Albarracin has coached the likes of Weili Zhang, Deiveson Figueiredo, Patricky Freire and Paulo Costa at the gym, which is located in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"The structure here is amazing and we are mixing the best from all over the world — China, Brazil, USA. Fight Ready is still crawling now, but soon we will be flying,” Albarracin said.

According to Albarracin, Zhang, the former UFC straweight champion, will impress the world with the new skills she has gained. Zhang is slated to face Rose Namajunas in a rematch at UFC 268 after relinquishing the strap to Namajunas in a shocking KO loss this past April.

“Zhang is a completely different fighter and you will see that in Nov. 6. Our muay Thai, boxing and wrestling coaches have done an incredible job,” Albarracin said. “I truly believe she will knock Namajunas out with a wrestling slam just like Jessica [Andrade] did.”

Albarracin also expressed optimism regarding Figueiredo´s trilogy fight against Brandon Moreno at UFC 270.

"He is feeling at home here. We have the whole team of professionals working for him, from nutritionist to wrestling to muay Thai, and he is really focused,” Albarracin said. “You will see a ‘God of War’ 2.0. I truly believe he will break Moreno between the third and fourth round.”

Unlike Zhang and Figueiredo, Paulo Costa decided to hold his camp in Brazil for his bout against Marvin Vettori at UFC Fight Night 196 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

“I'm sending a wrestler to Las Vegas that is exactly Vettori´s size to help ‘Borrachinha’ out the week of the fight,” revealed the man known as “Captain America.”

Freire also decided to hold his camp for the Bellator lightweight title bout against Peter Queally, in Natal, Brazil, but Albarracin guaranteed that he has participated in Pitbull’s” camp with plenty of online support.

"It´s going to be a war in Ireland: Pitbull brothers against SBG,” Albarracin said. “On Nov. 5, I’ll be in Ireland with Patricio and Patricky, who will knock out Peter Queally in front of Conor McGregor. That Friday, Patricky will knock out Conor ́s best friend and get the Bellator lightweight belt in front of Conor.

“On the following day, it will be the time for Zhang to recover her belt against Namajunas. Take note. It will be a historical night. We are going to recover two belts in the same weekend.”
