The first card for Season 4 of Dana White’s Contender Series is now official.

The lineup was announced during UFC Fight Night 172 over the weekend and will be headlined by a lightweight clash between Cameron Church and Jose Flores. Dana White’s Contender Series kicks off on Aug. 4 and takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It will air on ESPN+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Four other bouts were confirmed for Week 1: Ty Flores vs. Dustin Jacoby at light heavyweight; Uros Medic vs. Taylor Callens at lightweight; Luis Ronaldo Rodriguez vs. Jerome Rivera at flyweight and Kevin Syler vs. Kenneth Cross at lightweight.

Church, 29, is unbeaten in four professional outings. Most recently, he submitted Alejandro Sanchez with a rear-naked choke in the second round of a catchweight bout at Combate Americas “Stockton” on Dec. 13. Church’s first three professional triumphs came under the World Fighting Championship banner – all via TKO inside of two rounds.

Also a veteran of Combate Americas, Flores came up short in his first Contender Series appearance, falling to current UFC talent Matt Frevola by rear-naked choke on Season 1. The Mission, Texas, native rebounded to post back-to-back submission wins over Eduardo Bustillos and Clarence Brown in Combate Americas last year to run his career mark to 9-1.
