M-1
Global heavyweight champion Marcin
Tybura will headline Sept. 20’s rescheduled M-1
Challenge 61 card, which is now set to go down in Ingushetia,
Russia, after the bill was previously announced for Sept. 19 in
China.
Tybura (12-1) was named as a potential future breakout star by Todd Martin last year in a piece titled “The Murky Future of the Heavyweight Division,” and will now look to bounce back from his first career loss against M-1 light heavyweight champ Stephan Puetz when he takes on Ante Delija (14-2).
Delija, a Croatian submission specialist, is 1-1 in M-1 Challenge competition, with a win over Konstantin Gluhov via unanimous decision and a defeat against Denis Smoldarev.
Previously announced for the card is former promotional middleweight champion Magomed Sultanakhmedov (18-5-0, 12 KO) versus Brazilian Marcelo Brito (13-7-0). The bout will be the Russian’s first action in more than four years.
M-1 Challenge 61 will stream live and free on www.M1Global.TV via desktop and mobile devices.
