Sianos later posted a lengthy apology online, saying he couldn’t
explain his actions. While he expects that it could potentially be
the end of his boxing career, Sianos called for a rematch with
Bizewski, promising to donate his earnings to charity. Sianos wrote
(via Google Translate):
“I would like to refer to my fight yesterday... At the very beginning, I'd like to thank [Artur Bizewski for the duel. At the same time, my deepest apologies for my unsportsmanlike behavior in the ring... there is no explanation for this, it is reprehensible and I clearly deserved disqualification.
“Throughout the entire difficult preparation period, a similar situation never occurred during any sparring session. I didn't knock anyone down, let alone hit anyone with elbows, we trained in clean boxing.
“I myself cannot explain my behavior yesterday. I guess I may never appear in a professional boxing ring again. However, I personally believe that winning by disqualifying your opponent is not something you can be proud of. I don't consider myself a loser, nor Artur Bizewski a winner. If PUB, Rocky Boxing Night and Artur Bizewski agree to re-score the fight, I declare that my entire salary, regardless of the result of the fight, will be allocated to the charity purpose indicated by my opponent!
“I would not like to be perceived negatively, during my entire 20-year career I have never experienced similar behavior and I would not like this one-off incident to affect my sports image. Greetings to all my loyal fans and thank you for all the positive and negative comments..”
