Matchups Set for Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix Quarterfinals

The pairings are in place for the quarterfinals of Bellator MMA’s featherweight grand prix.

During a selection show on Saturday at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., the remaining eight competitors had their fates determined via a random drawing. While the first seven fighters picked their spots in the bracket in order based on the numbers they drew from No. 1 to No. 7, Patricio Freire was allowed to shake up the bracket with the final pick, and the reigning featherweight champion elected to face Pedro Carvalho in March.

The remaining three bouts are as follows: A.J. McKee vs. Derek Campos in December; Darrion Caldwell vs. Adam Borics in January and Daniel Weichel vs. Emmanuel Sanchez in February.

Locations and venues for the bouts have yet to be announced, but all quarterfinal fights will be contested over five rounds. The winner of the featherweight grand prix will take home the 145-pound belt as well as a $1 million prize.
