Phil Davis to Meet Karl Albrektsson in Bellator 231 Co-Main Event

Phil Davis will lock horns with Karl Albrektsson in the co-main event of Bellator 231.

Sherdog.com confirmed the light heavyweight contest with a promotion official on Wednesday following an initial report from MMAjunkie.com. Bellator 231 takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Oct. 25 and is headlined by a rematch between Frank Mir and Roy Nelson.

A former Bellator light heavyweight champion, Davis has won three of his last four bouts since dropping the belt to Bader in June 2017. “Mr. Wonderful” last appeared at Bellator 220, where he defeated Liam McGeary via third-round TKO on April 27.

The 26-year-old Albrektsson will enter his promotional debut on a three-bout winning streak. The Pancrase Gym Sweden representative owns a 9-2 career mark that includes a 3-2 stint with Rizin Fighting Federation.
