Report: WWE Interested in Ronda Rousey Match at ‘WrestleMania 33’

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey could be headed to World Wrestling Entertainment, according to a report from Forbes.com.

On the heels of the UFC’s announcement that former heavyweight king Brock Lesnar return to MMA against Mark Hunt at UFC 200, speculation has run amok as to what, if anything, the WWE was getting in return.

While the exact details of the UFC-WWE agreement for Lesnar to return to the cage remain a mystery, Forbes reports that the pro-wrestling organization is hoping to get Rousey to compete inside its ring.

According to the report, WWE is looking to add some promotional juice to its “SummerSlam” show on Aug. 21 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. On top of that, Vince McMahon and company are hoping to be able to use Rousey at “WrestleMania 33” next April. Rousey made an appearance at “WrestleMania 31” in April 2015 but did not wrestle in an official match.

UFC officials did not respond to a request for comment on the situation.
