Bader claimed the vacant heavyweight crown with a 35-second TKO of Fedor Emelianenko in his most recent outing at Bellator 214 on Jan. 26. That concluded a run through the heavyweight grand prix that also included convincing victories over Muhammed Lawal and Matt Mitrione. Bader is expected to defend the belt against No. 1 contender Cheick Kongo at a future event.
The Power MMA Team product captured the promotion’s light heavyweight title with a split-decision win against Phil Davis in his Bellator debut before scoring a second-round stoppage of Linton Vassell in his lone defense at Bellator 186.
Prior to signing with Bellator, Bader enjoyed a 15-5 stint in the UFC.
