At least one fighter flying the Scottish flag is walking away with an extra $50,000 dollars.
Immediately following UFC Fight Night 113 at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, the promotion announced its slate of post-event bonuses: “Fight of the Night” honors went to Scotland's own Daniel Henry, who prevailed over David Teymur in an exciting 15-minute decision, while “Performance of the Night” bonuses went to lightweight Paul Felder and headlining welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio.
All four fighters walk away with an extra $50K in their pocket.
Henry overcame a solid first round from the slick-boxing Teymur, before ultimately taking over the final 10 minutes with superior conditioning and top position skills, mounting a pair of arguable 10-8 rounds over the last two frames to notch the come-from-behind victory in front of his partisan crowd in his UFC debut.
Felder felled a Scotsman in his outing, hammering Steven Ray with a clinch knee and follow-up elbows at 3:57 of the first round to earn his extra cash.
In the main event, Brazilian-based Argentinian Santiago Ponzinibbio upset the favored Gunnar Nelson, raking him with punches and putting him away just 82 seconds into their main event outing. Ponzinibbio earned just his second fight night bonus in nine Octagon appearances, and also became the first man to stop Iceland's Nelson in his 10-year pro MMA career.
