UFC Signs Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka to Exclusive Contract

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has bolstered its light heavyweight division, signing Rizin champion Jiri Prochazka to an exclusive contract.

ESPN was first to report the signing. A date and opponent for Prochazka’s Octagon debut have not been confirmed.

Prochazka, 27, is coming off a first-round knockout of UFC veteran C.B. Dolloway in a 205-pound title defense at Rizin 20 on Dec. 31. The Czech Republic native is currently on a 10-bout winning streak and has finished his last eight opponents by knockout or technical knockout.

Prochazka owns a 26-3-1 career mark, with all but one of his triumphs coming inside the distance. “Denisa” owns notable wins over the likes of Fabio Maldonado, Muhammed Lawal, Brandon Halsey, Jake Heun, Karl Albrektsson, Vadim Nemkov and Darko Stosic, to name a few.
