UFC on ESPN 10 Weigh-in Results: 3 Miss Weight Including Jessica Eye; 1 Fight Scrapped

The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s busy June schedule rolls on with UFC on ESPN 10, and there was plenty of drama surrounding the scales.

The Saturday night event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas will now be headlined by a women’s catchweight bout between Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo. Eye (15-7, 1 NC) is the more experienced of the two headliners with 12 fights inside the Octagon. “Evil” has won four of her last five with a brutal knockout at the feet of Valentina Shevchenko being the lone blemish in that stretch. Eye, who came in five pounds overweight for her last bout, still failed to come in under the flyweight limit by weighing 126.25 pounds. When trying to pose for weigh-in photos, she apologized, saying, “I don’t think I can stand, guys, I’m sorry.”

Calvillo (8-1-1) has also had weight issues in the past and missed weight in three of her UFC bouts. This has caused her to move up from strawweight to flyweight. Coming off a draw against Marina Rodriguez in December, the new American Kickboxing Academy fighter is riding a three-fight unbeaten streak. The new weight fits Calvillo as she came in at 126 pounds.

In addition to Eye, two other fighters on the card came in heavy. Karl Roberson (190.5)**, who was hospitalized a month ago due to a bad weight cut, came in 4.5 pounds heavy for his middleweight bout against Marvin Vettori. Short-notice replacement Zarrukh Adashev (138.5)*** also tipped the scales above the bantamweight cap. All three bouts including fighters missing weight are currently under review by the physicians. Additionally, the match between Jordan Griffin (146) vs. Darrick Minner has been scrapped completely after Minner fell ill while cutting weight.

UFC on ESPN 10 will air live in its entirety on both ESPN+ and ESPN. Prelims begin at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT and the main card is set to start at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
