(PRESS RELEASE) -- New York, NY - Legendary world kickboxing
champion, Lou Neglia, brings his premier mixed martial arts (MMA)
promotion, Ring of Combat, which has sent 100 professional fighters
to the UFC, back for the 52nd time featuring two highly competitive
title fights and one super fight from the Tropicana Casino and
Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Friday, September 25th.
UFC Vet, Pete Sell (10-6), will take on Elijah Harshbarger (7-5) in a rematch that is three years in the making between former Ring of Combat champions. In their firsts encounter, Harshbarger would lose his ROC title to Sell via second round armbar. Now Sell looks to settle the score at ROC 52
“It’s been over three years since Pete has fought in the Ring of
Combat cage and we are excited to have him back and this is going
to be a great fight between Sell and Harshbarger, fighters who are
very aggressive,” said Lou Neglia, President of Ring of Combat.
Ring of Combat has made a name for itself unlike any other MMA promotion by being the platform that launched the careers of UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, retired, former UFC champions Matt Serra and Frankie Edgar along with UFC contenders Al Iaquinta, Uriah Hall, Costas Philippou, Edson Barboza and Ryan LaFlare.
Set to return for battle at Ring of Combat 52 is the the highly regarded and current undefeated Ring of Combat bantamweight champion, Julio Arce (8-0) of Queens, NY, who puts his title on the line for the fourth time against his toughest opponent to date, New York’s Brian Kelleher (13-7) who is riding a three fight win streak.
In a match where someone's “0” has to go, Ring of Combat welterweight champion Randy Brown (4-0) goes for his second title defense when he takes on Ohio’s Isaac Steele (4-0) for Ring of Combat gold. After having three family members pass away due to lung cancer, Steele has pledged to give proceeds from his fight purse to cancer research.
Former NCAA Division I wrestling champion and four-time All American, Gregor Gillespie was scheduled to fight but was forced to pull out due to injury. Eddie Lenoci (3-0) will now take his place taking on Shohin Safarov (3-1) for the number one lightweight contender spot.
