Beatdown: 'Bang' Ludwig, Makovsky

By Jeff Sherwood and TJ De Santis Feb 3, 2014

TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to the Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them was Team Alpha Male coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig and UFC flyweight competitor Zach Makovsky.

Urijah Faber’s quest for a UFC title was derailed Saturday night at UFC 169 when the former WEC featherweight champion was stopped via TKO to Renan Barao. In Faber’s corner was Duane Ludwig. The former fighter turned coach joined De Santis and Sherwood to chat about the loss, what is next for Faber, and if he felt referee Herb Dean should have let the fight go longer.

Former Bellator champion Zach Makovsky returns to the octagon at UFC 170 in Las Vegas, Neveda. “Fun Size” joined TJ and Jeff Monday to talk about his upcoming bout with Joshua Sampo. Makovksy recounts his UFC debut where defeated Scott Jorgensen, how he plans to attack Sampo, and why flyweight has been a better fit for him in mixed martial arts.

De Seants and Sherwood recap UFC 169, preview this week’s Tachi Palace Fights card, and take listener calls, emails and tweets. The guys also give their thoughts on last night’s Super Bowl.
