After his impressive performance against Stephen Thompson last summer, Gilbert Burns was having a hard time finding an opponent until he got a message from Khamzat Chimaev.
“Nobody wants to fight me, nor Khamzat, so we agreed to fight each other through our social media. Now we are waiting for the UFC to decide,” Burns said.
In an exclusive video with Sherdog’s Marcelo Alonso, Burns also commented that he hopes that the fight takes place in UFC Rio next May in a five-round clash. Burns also commented on how he sees the matchup stylistically and also explained why he believes Colby Covington and Charles Oliveira are clear favorites in their future fights against Jorge Masvidal and Justin Gathje, respectively.
