Report: Caceres-Semerzier Slated for Seattle UFC Card
By: Mike Whitman
“Ultimate Fighter 12” alum Alex Caceres and former WEC talent Mackens Semerzier have reportedly agreed to square off in a featherweight contest on March 26 at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle.
MMA Junkie initially reported news of the contest on Thursday morning. Neither the bout nor the event has been officially announced by the promotion, and a venue for the show has yet to be determined.
Caceres, perhaps better known to fans of the reality series as “Bruce Leroy,” was eliminated by eventual “TUF” finalist Michael Johnson in the show's quarterfinal round. Only 22, Caceres snapped a two-fight losing streak by defeating Jahmal McLennan in February before signing on to participate in “TUF.” Typically fighting at lightweight, Caceres was scheduled to make his official UFC debut against Season 12 semi-finalist Nam Phan at the show's finale, but he was forced to withdraw due to injury. Caceres will make his featherweight debut at Fight Night 24.
Semezier is currently riding a three-fight losing streak heading into his UFC debut. The 30-year-old has had a difficult 2010, dropping contests to Deividas Taurosevicius, Javier Vazquez and Cub Swanson, respectively. To Semerzier's credit, however, his efforts against Swanson at WEC 52 earned him “Fight of the Night” honors. Prior to those defeats, the Linxx Academy product had an unbeaten record of 5-0, including a successful WEC debut against Brazilian submission specialist Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 43 that garnered him a “Submission of the Night” bonus.
Fight Night 24 is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between former UFC champion Tito Ortiz and Pride Fighting Championships veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and will likely feature the return of Anthony Johnson as he squares off against hard-hitting Brit Dan Hardy in a welterweight duel. -
TUF 12 Sherblog: Sowing Seeds of Doubt

Episode four was by far one of the most interesting due to the fact that it was pretty much around the time when most people in the house began to hate me.
After our second victory over Team Koscheck, I guess it was time to let “Bruce Leroy” know what was on their mind. As I was walking out to the pool for some post-fight relaxation, Sevak Magakian decided to run his mouth about how I was being classless and disrespectful because of the way I was cheering. Come on, we’re human beings. Forgive me for getting excited, but it was a really close fight between Michael Johnson and Aaron Wilkinson, and everyone was yelling and on the edge of their seats.
I guess I forgot I was dealing with virgin ears and shouldn’t have been cursing, although, in my fight with Jeff Lentz, it was Sevak who was screaming out things to me in a distinct Neanderthal voice: “Get out while you can” and “There’s still time to run.” Basically, he was saying I had no chance, but, hey, I didn’t complain. TUF 12 Sherblog: Iron Mike and the Fog of War

It was time to get back to drinking after my fight with Jeff Lentz, and, apparently, I spent all night reminding him how I had beaten him. I can’t personally recall doing any of this due to the fact that I was super drunk. I guess I let my words run loose all over Jeff, just letting him and everyone else know how I felt.
But enough about me. It was Michael Johnson’s turn to fight. The following morning, our team gathered after practice to decide who among us would fight next. Michael, one of our toughest fighters, stepped up to the plate and, after consulting with coaches Georges St. Pierre and John Danaher, finally decided to take on Aaron Wilkinson.
I thought it would be a good fight, considering the way English guys compete, but I felt that Michael had it in the bag if he could hold down Wilkinson and lay down some of that ground-and-pound we all saw in his first appearance on the show. Read more -
TUF 12 Sherblog: Avoiding Koscheck
By: Alex Caceres

It was the first day in “The Ultimate Fighter” house, and let me tell you, it was pretty crazy. The house was huge, full of liquor and food, and, right away, Jeff Lentz and I went to drinking, just a few shot here and there to celebrate our victories.
After exploring the house and chilling in the pool, everyone began to share a little bit about themselves, and I threw in a couple of far-fetched stories about hunting and killing wild and dangerous animals. I don’t think I convinced them, and, by that time, everyone thought I was in over my afro, which was good. I thought, “Now, they won’t take me as seriously.”
Anyway, we all found our own place in the house. I was stuck in an upstairs room with about six other dudes, which made it hard to sleep every once in a while. The fact that the beds were two sizes too small did not help, either. We took our last drink -- at least Cody McKenzie and I did -- and it was off to bed to prepare ourselves for the team selection process the next day.
The following morning, we were all very excited, and it was not long before the vans arrived to take us to the gym. Once there, they had us line up and wait for the coaches. There were 14 fighters, two coaches and, of course, UFC President Dana White. It was time for the picks. Dana flipped a coin, and Josh Koscheck won the first pick. With it, he selected Marc Stevens. TUF 12 Sherblog: Paging ‘Bruce Leroy’
By: Alex Caceres
Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres file photo: Spike TV
I was up early and on a plane to Vegas. That’s how I remember it.
It took about five hours to get there, and after all that sitting on the plane, I guess they figured I should sit some more in my hotel room. The put us in a hotel called the Police Station, I mean, Palace Station. Sorry, but I get confused with both places since I was stuck in a small room with nothing to do but pace back and forth and put down as many orders as I could on the request list.
The other fighters and I were all confined to our hotel rooms for two days. Every once in a while, someone would come in, group us together and run tests on us. They asked us weird and penetrating questions. At times, we hardly seemed human. After spending two days on mindless activities and keeping to myself, freedom came my way. Read more
